In a press conference, Health and Active Aging Minister Jo Etienne Abela discussed the findings of a Magisterial inquiry into the death of Stephen Mangion.

The inquiry, led by Magistrate Joe Mifsud, recognised that the healthcare professionals at the Emergency Department did everything necessary to provide a professional service and attempted to save Mangion’s life under the circumstances.

Minister Abela emphasised the damaging impact of unfounded criticism and misinformation circulating on social media, which has significantly affected the morale of emergency workers.

He reiterated that these dedicated professionals work tirelessly day and night to provide full medical assistance to all who seek their help.

The Minister assured that the government will continue to support healthcare workers and invest in the Emergency Department, maintaining the highest standards of service for the public.
