Malta Invests €1.05 Million In Cancer Research As New Funding Call Is Launched

Malta is doubling down on its commitment to cancer research with a €1.05 million investment in innovative projects aimed at improving treatments and survival rates.
Xjenza Malta has launched the second call for the Cancer Research Programme, in collaboration with the Cancer Research and Innovation Hub Malta (CROHM).
The initiative, spearheaded by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research, and Innovation, aims to push forward national efforts in tackling cancer through groundbreaking research and technological advancements.
“This year, we are doubling our investment, allocating €1.05 million in grants for cancer research projects,” said Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti.
“This funding boost underscores the importance of this field and reaffirms our commitment to supporting scientific breakthroughs that can truly change lives.”
The programme aligns with the ECHoS – Horizon Europe Beating Cancer Mission, focusing on reducing cancer incidence, improving treatments, increasing survival rates, and enhancing patient quality of life.

The funding opportunity is open to academic, public, and private entities looking to contribute to cancer research in Malta.
