As the topic of medical use of MDMA and magic mushrooms hits the mainstream more and more, a Maltese MEP has opened up about how one man’s life was changed for ever in a positive way after using them.

While being filmed for a documentary on the use of psychedelics for mental health challenges, Cyrus Engerer spoke of a patient who was cured of his PTSD thanks to the treatment.

Engerer explains how he met the person who had gone through treatment for his PTSD which had started to negatively impact his social life too.

“He recounted how through psychedelic treatment he had gotten rid of his acute PTSD which had resulted from the diagnosis of his son with Leukaemia a number of years back,” Engerer told Lovin Malta.

He also stated that current clinical trials being held overseas (in Europe and the United States) show that if done under clinical settings with supervision, drugs like MDMA, Psilocybin, Ketamine, and DMT are leaving astonishing results where other drugs hadn’t made inroads in years.

‘‘We must act fast. We can’t allow a situation where such treatment is administered in a non-clinical setting.’’
