Today, Malta joins the rest of the world in marking World Mental Health Day, a reminder to raise awareness, break the stigma, and support one another in the journey towards better mental wellbeing.

Every year, mental health challenges affect millions across the globe, and Malta is no exception. Families, friends, and communities all feel the impact. But change starts when we choose to speak openly, listen without judgement, and remind those around us that they are not alone.

This year’s theme is all about access to services, Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.

The focus is on ensuring that mental health support remains available during crises, disasters, and emergencies, highlighting the importance of accessible care when it’s needed most.

If you or someone you know needs help in Malta:

  • 179 (Supportline) – 24/7 support for anyone in crisis
  • 1770 (Richmond Foundation) – professional mental health support
  • Kellimni.com – confidential chat & phone support, especially for young people
  • Crisis Resolution Malta (9933 9966) – urgent mental health crisis support
  • Victim Support Malta (2122 8333) – support for victims of crime, abuse, or trauma
  • 1579 – Mental Health Helpline
  • OLLI.Chat –  They are there to listen and help, ready to talk about whatever you need to say.
  • 🚨 In an emergency: dial 112

Today, let’s remind ourselves: it’s okay not to be okay, and it’s always okay to ask for help.

Share to raise awareness!
