New Holistic Community Clinic Inaugurated In St Julian’s

In a significant boost to local healthcare, Minister for Health and Active Aging Jo Etienne Abela, has inaugurated a new community clinic in the heart of St Julian’s.
This modern facility is set to offer comprehensive medical services including family medicine, speech and language pathology for both adults and children, as well as podiatry and physiotherapy.
The clinic is a collaborative effort between the local council of St Julian’s, the Parish of St Julian’s, and partially funded by the National Social Development Fund (NDSF) and aims to serve the health needs of over 13,500 residents of St Julian’s and the surrounding areas.
Minister Abela highlighted the expansion of community-based healthcare, noting that the number of such clinics has reached 29, serving over 100,000 patients annually.

He emphasised the holistic and preventive care programs that these clinics will offer, ensuring that healthcare remains patient-centred at the primary level.
“The integration of services like physiotherapy, podiatry, and speech-language pathology into community clinics reflects our ongoing commitment to enhance access and deliver comprehensive healthcare services closer to home,” Abela stated.
He affirmed the government’s dedication to strengthen primary health care as a core pillar of the nation’s health system, ensuring that medical care is more accessible to all residents.
This new clinic not only promises enhanced healthcare accessibility for the residents of St Julian’s but also represents a crucial step forward in the government’s commitment to enriching community health services across Malta.
