Record-Breaking Number Of Surgeries In Malta And Gozo In 2024
During the year 2024, a total of 62,635 operations were performed at Mater Dei Hospital, marking a record-breaking figure with an increase of 4,000 surgeries compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, in Gozo, there was also a notable increase, with 5,529 operations carried out at the Gozo General Hospital, setting another record with 1,000 more surgeries than the previous year.
Additionally, around 2,110 operations were conducted through agreements with the private sector.
