A number of individuals who believe that 5G can cause serious damage to the body (and beyond) have teamed up to call for a halt on bringing the technology to Malta.

The campaign believes that 5G, which is the fifth generation of broadband access that aims to speed up internet access for users, leads to a series of negative health effects, including cancer, DNA damage, autism in children, as well as negatively affecting flora, fauna, bacteria, and algae.

“I am writing to you today to object to the fifth generation of mobile telecommunications (5G) technology being enabled in Malta,” an email being sent by 5G-opposers to the Prime Minister and the Malta Communication Office begins. 

“It is clear from numerous studies and tests conducted that 5G is not safe. Over 200 international scientists and doctors have signed an appeal and sent this to the European Commission headed: ‘Scientists and doctors warn of potential serious health effects of 5G’,” the letter continues.

“Highly credentialed doctors and scientists would not waste their time or risk their professional reputations if their concerns were not informed and backed up by scientific evidence. The potentially serious health effects of 5G frequencies are real and need to be taken seriously,” the letter says. “The argument that radio frequencies do not cause harm is not based on any factual evidence. In fact, there is clear evidence that the opposite is true and that RF radiation causes serious health problems.”
