Here Are Our Predictions For The X Factor Malta Grand Finals This Saturday
There’s a sense of impending doom looming over my shoulder, reminding me that as of this week, I’m going to have to find something new to do with my Sunday evenings. The first season of the X Factor Malta comes to an end this Saturday and I’m not quite sure I’m ready to say goodbye yet.
In the meantime, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy in the office by predicting what we think will go down next week. From the songs we think will be sung, to who the *secret international guest* will be.
First of all, they’re all going to be singing classic Maltese songs
We racked our brains to allocate one iconic track from Malta’s discography to each contestant, and it soon became clear.
1. Michela will sing Inti Djamant by The Tramps
Gotta rally up those Gozitan voters, and who better than the sister island’s starlet?
2. Petra will sing Mur ?allini by Freddie Portelli
And she’ll make it all about being a strong independent woman who don’t need no man, and absolutely own it.
3. Nicole will sing Xemx… also by The Tramps
Malta’s favourite sing-along song is only fitting for Nicole’s powerful voice. It would have to be this or L-A??ar Bidwi f’Wied G?asel.
4. Owen will sing Ori?inali B?ali by Hooligan
Malta’s new rap powerhouse REPRESENT. #FreshPrinceOfValletta
Turns out the finalists will actually be singing four songs each. Four. So that’s 16 songs in total at least. Not including any guest performers.
Some of Howard Keith’s artists could be there to perform
Perhaps we’ll be treated to some New Victorians or The Travellers material or some iconic duets.
And let’s be honest, if Ira and Alex don’t get on that stage, we’re going to be pretty disappointed.
And about those “mistednin internazzjonali“…
We have two guesses.
1) Jason Derulo to sing ‘Colors‘ with Ira
2) Emma Muscat… because technically, she’s signed internationally
Of course we now know that the reigning X Factor UK champ Dalton Harris will be gracing the stage. But there’s still a tiny spark of hope in our hearts that it might be Lady Gaga’s return to the island. Can you imagine a Gaga and Michela duet? Shook.
As for our winner prediction, this one’s tricky
Michela Pace is dominating the polls, but we have something else in mind.
We think Nicole will be crowned winner and sent off to belt out an awesome representation of our island in Tel Aviv this May, while Howard will steal Michela away and swiftly sign her to his production house, Jagged House.
But the truth is, no matter what the final result is, these performers are not going anywhere. We’re pretty sure Owen will be a featured artist on some new track later this year, and you best believe Petra isn’t going to stop bringing the roof down anytime soon.
