‘I Want To Put Malta’s Name On Top Now’: Meet Kaya Gouder Curmi, Malta’s Sanremo Junior 2019 Contestant
The road to San Remo Junior in Italy is paved with hard work, dedication, and lots of sweat and tears – and one Maltese eight-year-old is ready to take it all on.
Kaya Gouder Curmi will be representing Malta on the 1st of May during the annual youth competition, a competition that launched the careers of other Maltese singers like Gaia Cauchi, who has already given Kaya a co-sign.
And with all the support from the Maltese community, Kaya is dead-set on coming out on top during the very competitive event.
“I’ve been working very hard to be where I am today and now that I finally reached my goal I am willing to keep on working hard. I want to put Malta’s name on top now,” she told Lovin Malta ahead of the big day.
Kaya came first from a total of 47 fellow singers to win the San Remo Junior Malta last week
She floored the judges, and the audience, with her powerful rendition of “Bring Him Home” from the musical Les Miserables.
And after winning San Remo, Kaya told Lovin Malta what her next big step is going to be
‘I’ll be taking part in the Junior Eurovision next,” she said confidently.
