If you consider yourself a fan of the Maltese music scene, you need to check out the line-up of this music festival taking place over the weekend. Literally every Maltese singer you can think of is going to be there.

OK, not literally.

But there’s going to be loads of them. From a healthy helping of X Factor Malta alumni to OG heart throb Klinsmann, to the queen herself Ira Losco, the line-up for this year’s Beland Music Festival is impressive.

Over three days, more than 20 acts will take to the stage at the ?ejtun Market Square

The festival will kick off at 8pm, with two local acts competing in the third edition of the Beland Music Contest supported by Arts Council Malta and PRS for Music.

The artists competing this year are Auntie’s Yellow Sofa, RiSE, Jessica Magro, Dav.Jr, Mark Anthony Bartolo and Raquel.

On Friday 3rd May, Ira Losco will take to stage

And she’s going to sing her brand new single from No Sinner No Saint live for the first time.

Owen Leuellen will also pop by to perform with her at one point. On the night, she’ll be supported by singer and guitarist Kersten Graham, as well as 2007 punk rock Eurovision hottie Klinsmann.

Saturday 4th May will see a whole host of former X Factor contestants and finalists teaming up with Tenisha and DJ Ruby

Including Luke Chappell, Nicole Frendo, Ben Purplle and loads more. There will also be a couple of other singers, dancers, and fireworks.

ManaTapu will close the festival on Sunday 5th May

So you can all shout “MUR FEJ TRID IMMA MUR (IMMA MUR)!” together.

Organised by a team of volunteers, the Beland Music Festival started back in 2011

And aims to serve as a platform for the development and promotion of local artists in the musical sector by combining established headlining artists with up-and-coming artists. This blend creates an attractive atmosphere that allows the audience to appreciate the wide range of talents available in Malta.

Entrance to the event is by donation at the door, and there’s no need to book tickets in advance. Just roll up and enjoy!
