After finishing second on X Factor Malta, Owen Leullen promised Malta that it has not seen the last of him. And the young rapper has quickly delivered on that promise and will shortly record a duet with none other than his own mentor on the talent show, famed singer Ira Losco!

X Factor judge Howard Keith Debono confirmed on Xarabank last Friday that his production house Jagged House will soon record a version of ‘Hey Now’ – Ira Losco’s new song that she performed on stage with Owen on the final night of X Factor. The performance has proved massively popular and has been watched over 213,000 times on YouTube, making it the most viewed X Factor Malta video by a clear margin.

“X Factor Malta isn’t only about a TV music show, it’s also about kickstarting their music, helping them choose their best path,” Howard wrote. “Of course it depends on each individual but we’ll be here for the finalists with the right attitude who made the live shows and we’ll try our very best to give them as many opportunities as possible.”

“Almost 200k views after that live performance, tons of reposts, messages from people requesting a version Feat. Owen…. my manager Howard Keith Debono yesterday officially announced (on Xarabank) that Owen will be entering the studio to record his rap on my song in the next few days and we’ll be releasing the X Factor version,” Ira wrote. “Can’t wait for it to hit the radio waves!”
