Like clockwork, one of Mother Nature’s first beautiful displays for the new season arrived late last night on the first day of October. As signs of rain gathered and temperatures slightly dipped during the day, more and more clouds kept forming over the Maltese islands, until, by Monday night, the skies were lit in a display that had many people getting out of bed and reaching for their cameras.
While it wasn’t the largest single cell thunderstorm to hit the island, the huge active light show was highly welcomed by people who have been waiting for rain and thunder to properly hit our islands for months, and last night definitely didn’t disappoint.
The storm lasted some four hours, and as we wait for more of the same potentially coming our way over the next two days, here are some of the most impressive shots from yesterday’s storm over Malta.
