Malta’s answer to ermahgahd-we-has-forest will always hold a special place in our hearts. Kick back beneath the trees, nibble some ftajjar dripping in oil, and relax in the OG Maltese forest.

3. Ta’ Qali

This is one of the most famous picnic and dog-walking areas on the island, and with good reason. Ta’ Qali’s sprawling lawns and gardens are just the place for you to relax and lie down on the grass.

This southern gem is hands-down the prettiest spot to hang out at. And before you go complaining that it’s too far away, gurl – if the southerners can figure out how to get to Mellieħa, you can totally Google Maps your way here.

Besides, what better excuse to stare out at the sea and listen to all of Bonnie Tyler’s songs in one go without looking sad?

8. Dingli

Everyone’s go-to cliff-riddled spot on the island is the place for windswept-hair-snaps and killer sunset views. We promise, the beautiful scenery and bushy plants will make up for the raging wind trying to blow you into oblivion.
