A New Map Shows When People Leave Home And There Isn’t A Shade Dark Enough For Malta

An official Eurostat map showing data for when people move out of their parents home provides a tragic insight into our tendency to overstay our welcome (not that our parents would ever admit that).

Living up to our Mediterranean stereotypes, Maltese people are some of the last to move out of their parent’s house.

The report, published this morning, highlights how northern Europeans tend to leave way before, with the majority of Swedes moving out before their 20s.

It also places Malta as one of the four countries where the average age to leave home is in the 30s. Previous data gathered in 2016 has us at the second highest average for males, and the first highest for females (although admittedly, the female average is almost two years younger).
