Pets travelling to Gozo with their owners today and all of next week will be in for a nice surprise. This is because the Gozo Channel is providing them with free water at both the Cirkewwa and Mgarr terminals, as part of a government awareness campaign for animals that are being exposed to the sun. 

Between today and 18 August – essentially the popular Santa Marija feast season – pet owners will be given a special ticket to present to Gozo Channel officials in return for water for their furry friends. 

Along with the water, they will also be provided with an information package with advice on how to protect pets from the sun’s harmful rays during summer.
