Badly Injured Dog Abandoned In Marsa Skip And His Leg Had To Be Amputated

Animal Welfare officers encountered a sad sight two weeks ago as they were called in to rescue a wounded dog who had been abandoned in a skip in Marsa.

TVM reported that Animal Welfare had been tipped off about the dog from an anonymous caller. Upon visiting the skip, they found the dog in a lot of pain, suffering from a wound in his leg that had practically exposed his bones.

A vet later amputated his leg after ruling that it was unsalvageable.

The dog remains under the custody of Animal Welfare officials and it is unknown at this stage whether he will be put up for adoption.
