As from next Sunday, there will be a weekly mass delivered in the Indian Malayalam language at St.Theresa Church in Bormla.

Malayalam is the Mother Language of those coming from Kerala in India.

“Through this initiative, the Discalced Carmelites in Malta (commonly known as Terezjani) will do their part to Spiritually support the Indian community living in Malta,” Fr Juan De Bono said.

He revealed that starting from Sunday 28th April, Fr Jason Puthumadasser, a friar from Kerala who joined the religious community at St Theresa Church in Cospicua, will be delivering mass in Malayalam.

“This is testament that Jesus is the indeed Good Shepard and does in fact take care of his herd,” the Order of the Discalced Carmelites in Malta said in a Facebook statement.

“Whosoever left their country and came to live on our island definitely did not do so capriciously.”

The statement went on to say that now, thanks to the arrival of Fr Jason, the Indian community living in our country will now have “another Shepard who can strengthen their faith in the scripture in a practical way”.
