As panic about the state of the construction industry spread across Malta in recent days, a photo of a particularly dangerous looking building started making the rounds on social media.

The building, a five-storey block of apartments at the corner of Triq Santa Venera and Triq il-?arrub in Msida ends in a questionable foundation of loose bricks, a handful of cement and some random pieces of wood and dirt.

However, the Chamber of Architects has assured that the building doesn’t pose a danger to passers-by.

“After speaking to the perit behind the project, we have been assured that the building doesn’t pose any danger,” Chamber of Architects president Simone Vella Lenicker told Lovin Malta. “The bricks were actually holding up the formwork that’s used to cast the concrete.”
