From Eurovision Icons To Interfaith Dialogues: What To Expect On 15th September At EuroPride
EuroPride 2023 may be bringing some massive performers and incredible parties to Malta… but the celebrations are about way more than just that.
Here are the seven events happening on 15th September:
Pjazza Tritoni will come alive with the sounds of Eurovision Night. Conchita Wurst, known for her anthem “Rise Like a Phoenix”, will headline the event. Katrina, once part of the “Katrina and The Waves”, and Lithuania’s The Roop are set to dazzle the audience.
Joining this incredible lineup are beloved Eurovision stars Fabrizio Faniello, Chiara, and Claudia Faniello, and The Busker who will showcase their remarkable talents and make this night truly unforgettable.
In the same location, Partit Laburista is orchestrating a pivotal dialogue on the LGBTIQ+ representation within education. This discussion aims to examine the current state of LGBTIQ+ education in Malta and provide insights into potential areas of growth and inclusivity.
And if none of the above are your cup of tea, a community discussion at Pjazza Tritoni, Diversity in Political Representation, will be hosted by Rainbow Platform ALDE/ FNF. Pride Amongst Prejudice by Global Equality Caucus will also be taking place at the same venue.
Venturing to The Hive in Victoria, Ilħna minn Għawdex: Open Mic Night with LGBTI+Gozo offers an intimate setting. The event showcases the narratives of queer Gozitans, drawing from the newly released Ilħna minn Għawdex or Gozo Voices. A curated selection of writers will share their tales, interspersed with performances that promise a blend of emotion and artistry.
LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Conference will continue to take place at the Phoenicia.
Lastly, the historical Ħagar Qim Temples provide the backdrop for an enlightening Interfaith Celebration. Here, amidst structures that have withstood millennia, representatives from various faiths will convene. The aim is to highlight the importance of the shared spiritual bonds that transcend religious labels and foster unity.
Will you be there?
