‘Illostra, Kanna Ukoll’: Someone Managed To Perfectly Break Down Malta’s Traffic Woes With One Simple Acrnoym
School’s officially back in and rain isn’t that rare anymore. You know what that means; traffic jams and fits of road rage are back to being a very normal thing in Malta.
In the midst of all that snail-paced frustration, one man has taken it upon himself to summarise every single thing that goes through every single driver on Malta’s roads… and he managed to do it by using one very simple word.
Taking to popular Facebook forum The Salott (as you do), Charles here played to his strengths as ‘Visual Storyteller’ and took everyone on a relatable AF ride of what it means to be stuck in traffic.
Expertly making use of the Maltese word for traffic, he lays it all down, with his acronym being loosely translated to: “You try an alternate route – fuck fuck – wow, another inconvenience.”
And yes, blajt kanna is quite frankly a bit harsher than a simple inconvenience, but how else would you describe a phrase whose literal translation is “I swallowed a drainpipe”?
