It might not be as big as the traditional winter carnival, but that doesn’t matter, because it has everything you need… including 13 awesome floats and five dance schools on display.

And this year’s edition is extra special with a third locality, Birżebbuga, being added to the program for the first time.

Birżebbuġa will join St Paul’s Bay and Marsaskala, who have celebrated Summer Carnival over the past several years.

“This year we are taking the Summer Carnival to Birżebbuga for the first time, where we will have a street parade featuring a variety of decorative floats accompanied by groups of young dancers,” said festival director Annabelle Stivala.

It will all kicks off this Friday night with the Gran Defile in Dawret il-Gzejjer, St Paul’s Bay.

It will then continue on Saturday, where the Defile will begin from Santana Hotel and will move along Islet Promenade until it reaches Buġibba Square.

Birżebbuġa will also be holding a parade Saturday night which will start at 7:30 pm from the bus terminus and will proceed along the coast of Pretty Bay.
