Malta Prepares For Global Events With New Expo Centre

Malta is set to cement its position as a hub for world-class events, with Prime Minister Robert Abela touring this year’s SiGMA-EuroMed Expo at the Malta Maritime Hub.
The Prime Minister was welcomed by SiGMA founder Eman Pulis and got a firsthand look at the latest innovations in gaming and technology, meeting exhibitors and delegates along the way.
This year’s expo attracted over 400 sponsors and exhibitors and around 12,000 delegates, including more than 400 expert speakers from around the globe. SiGMA, which started as a small local start-up, has grown into a global powerhouse and a household name in gaming and tech, employing over 100 Maltese creatives in the process.
The Maltese government is keen to ensure this momentum continues. Plans for a state-of-the-art National Expo Centre aim to attract even more quality international events, positioning Malta as a centre of excellence for global summits. According to Prime Minister Abela, this new facility is a national investment in Malta’s future economy, aligned with the Malta Vision 2050 initiative.
Abela was joined on the tour by Minister for the Economy and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, highlighting the government’s commitment to turning Malta into a hotspot for innovation, networking, and international business.
With Malta’s sights firmly set on the future, the National Expo Centre could soon become the go-to destination for world-class expos and conferences, and a shining example of how the island is punching well above its weight on the global stage.
