Maltese Man Asks Whether Using A Washing Machine At 5am Is Okay, Chaos Ensues
A man’s simple questions and quest for a peaceful morning opened up the floodgates online after he took to a popular Facebook group to ask:
“What can one do if the neighbour turns on the washing machine at 5am to 6am every day?”
This post quickly went viral, garnering over 1,600 comments and over 300 reactions within hours.
People had a lot of different views on the acceptability of one washing their garments before the sun rises, with the comments’ section agog with thousands of messages of well-intentioned advice.
“Turn yours on at midnight!” prompted one well-wisher
“Live and let live” responded a more peaceful individual.
“Just wait till she’s finished so you can help hang the washing” said one joker.
Some of the more confrontational suggestions pushed the original poster to cut his neighbour’s power from outside, while the more reconciliatory characters advocated patience and empathy as “not everybody shares the luxury to choose to wash them during the day”.
While the jury is still out on how okay it is to wake up your neighbours at 5am while doing chores, others made it clear that due to work or other pressures, 5am may be the only time some people can get to their chores.
