For the third year running, Nickelodeon will transform Valletta into a family-oriented festival where the kids can meet their favourite cartoon characters including SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Transformers and Baby Shark.

The treasure hunt will be held on 27th and 28th May and will take place in the main squares and thoroughfares of Valletta and other venues around Malta. These include Għar Dalam, Ħaġar Qim, Imnajdra, The Archeological Park, National History Museum and St. Paul’s Catacombs.

The treasure hunt will provide the opportunity for families to bond together in a fun way while exploring Malta’s historic heritage with their beloved cartoon characters.

During a press conference to announce the event, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo declared that family tourism is a rapidly expanding niche.

“We need to react to modern tourism demands. We are committed to strengthen the diversity of events we have on offer in Malta. These kinds of events join seamlessly with our vision of a tourism industry independent of seasonality.”

Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) Chairman Gavin Gulia remarked that the MTA is committed to supporting these kinds of events in tandem with the government’s vision for a sustainable vision for the islands.
