‘OTOP’ And ‘RESEAVED’: It’s Been A Tough Week For Malta’s Road Painters

It looks like everyone being employed to paint Malta’s roads needs to take a spelling test after government workers misspelled two road surface signs this week.

In what continues to be the inevitable downward spiral of Malta’s roads, two separate photos have emerged this week of roadworkers misspelling the words ‘stop’ and ‘reserved’.

‘OTOP’ and ‘RESEAVED’ is what they ended up and I can honestly say I’m not surprised.

After that new bike lane in San Ġwann was revealed last week, I’m now convinced that painting on the road isn’t exactly our forte. Getting it wrong first and then backtracking to fix it seems to be the order of the day.

As you can imagine, social media had a good laugh at the situation, with some even providing the most absurd excuses for the incorrect spelling.

It’s spelt ‘dictionary’ hun.
