Paceville Loses Another Icon As Salsa Bar Fuego Closes Its Doors

One of the oldest nightclubs in Paceville, the salsa bar Fuego, has confirmed it has shut down.

Fuego was set up in 2001 and was renowned locally for its Hispanic music and salsa classes. However, its owners – the brothers Mark and Simon Grima – have suddenly announced on Facebook that they are closing the nightclub down.

The adjacent Pizza Factory, a staple for after-party grub, has also closed down.

The Grimas didn’t provide any reasons for the closure of these two outlets, but confirmed plans are already in the works to relocate both of them elsewhere.

“It is indeed a sad day for the local hospitality and entertainment industries,” the brothers said. “We would like to show our appreciation to the hard-working staff and to the loyal clientele who over the years have made these national icons what they are. However, let it be noted that Fuego and Pizza Factory are vibrant brands, not mere buildings. Plans are already under way to relocate both marques.”

The closure of these two outlets follows several recent closures of popular Paceville outlets – including Coconut Grove, The Olde Keg, Hotch, the downstairs area of Nordic, the sushi bar Gochi and Dick’s Bar.
