Sold Out Fawlty Towers Dining Show In Malta Extended By Two Nights

Fawlty Towers fans, rejoice! An upcoming immersive comedy show based on the popular British sitcom will open for two more nights, after it generated an extraordinary amount of interest from the Maltese public.

Shows on the 16th and 17th March at the Sheer Bastion in Senglea had sold out in just over 24 hours, prompting the organisers to add two more dates to the calendar – on the 18th and 19th. Tickets can be bought online for €60 as of tomorrow from 11am, but only 120 seats are available for each show, so you’d better book fast to avoid disappointment.

The Faulty Towers Dining Experience takes the form of a three-course meal, served by actors playing Basil and Sybil Fawlty and the hapless waiter Manuel. In typical Fawlty Towers style, the service promises to be a hilarious shambles from start to finish, although the food itself is supposed to be pretty good.

Only a third of the performance is scripted, with the rest of it completely improvised.

The comedy show has been running around the world since 1997, selling out from Edinburgh and Canada to Kenya and Sydney. The spelling of its name as ‘Faulty Towers’ is intentional so as to position it as a tribute to the old BBC Fawlty Towers sitcom.
