The 7 People You’ll Always Find Queuing In Front Of You At MaltaPost

Let’s be honest here, we never allocate enough time to going to the post office. Most of us only go there when we ‘find five minutes’ between other errands, or pop in quickly before work.

Which is why we always lose our minds whenever we walk in and find a long queue. And in that queue there’s a good chance of finding a few of the following personalities.

1. The woman who needs to stamp 17 envelopes

She won’t even be buying them, just asking for help to affix them on an envelope. Why can’t you lick your own stamp, Mary?

2. The person who doesn’t understand the parcel system

You have two notes for the same parcel, not two parcels. Simple.

3. The person who can’t hear the teller through the glass

You should lean closer to the speaker, not her face. Also, she’s probably just saying: thank you, have a nice day.

4. The person there to buy stationary.

Why? Why come here for a glue stick?

5. The person paying their taxes in coins

Nice to know they’re not hiding their money in an offshore account, but do you really need to pay the €30 in 50c instalments?

6. The person shipping their entire life abroad

20 small boxes, 15 garbage bags duct-taped shut and a weird brown envelope that all need to be processed, stamped and sent off to Australia.

“Mela taħseb li ħa nitla mingħajr Galletti u Twistees jew?”

7. The angry man

The cause could be any of the above, or some combination of the lot, but there is always an angry customer, pacing uncomfortably and refusing to walk away from the counter despite repeated attempts to end the interaction.
