Many find it hard to distinguish the exact point where one town in Malta ends, and another begins. But one thing is certain, the streets may be shared, but the identity is definitely unique. Here are some of the Local Council flags that highlight the creative spark of each locality.
1. Dingli
An interesting take on the usual cross, Dingli’s design stands out as a modern winner.
2. Marsaskala
A geometric nod to the town’s geography, and a fun use of colours and shapes.

We’re not 100% sold on the green, but the hill’s incorporated as a ‘negative space’ is pretty damn cool.

Just like Santa Lucija, Pieta’s black background adds a dramatic touch to an already-memorable avian creation.

Not to get too controversial, but as more and more people speak out against our current flag being a little too boring, Naxxar’s flag could be a good replacement. It features our colours, and a unique incorporation of a cross, all we’d need to do is work to make it a little less Swiss.
