These Were The Most Passed (And Failed) A-Level Subjects In Malta Last Year

We’re back again to try give students hope and have a look at the odds for their upcoming A level examinations in Malta. We’re going to be taking a look at last year’s A level results, both the advanced, and intermediate papers. 

We’ve even compiled a list of the most – and least – passed subjects of the 2017 scholastic year.

A Level Results – Highest pass rate


Geography was the exam in which the students of 2017 did best, with an extremely high rate of 98.4% managing to achieve a passing grade.

Home Economics & Human Ecology fared almost just as well with a pass rate of 90.8%.

Maltese came in third place with a pass rate of 87.5%, a high amount considering the attendance of almost 600 students. Well done!

A Level Results – Lowest Pass rate

Unfortunately Accounting was the exam which had the lowest pass rate in the advance level examinations, with only 64.9% of students getting a passing grade.

Marketing is next on the list, with a measly 66% of advance level students passing it.

Unsurprisingly Pure Mathematics also made our list, regarded as one of the harder exams only 66.4% of almost 500 students managed to pass.

Advanced Results

Intermediate – Highest pass rate

In first place we have Information Technology with a whopping 92.3% pass rate, for students taking the Intermediate exam paper.

Art came in second with 86.5% of students who took underwent the exam passing, however with a low attendance of 37.

Home Economics and human ecology made the list again with a pass rate of 86.4% students passing the exam.

Intermediate – Lowest pass rate

Unfortunately Biology students didn’t fare too well with only 65.1% of students managing to pass the exam.

Religious Knowledge fared only slightly better with a 65.6% pass rate.

Chemistry students managed to push the pass rate up to 66.7%, however with a low attendance of 45 students.

All in all these are just the statistics.

Tthe best advice we can give you is to put in your hours, and study your asses off.
