It’s been getting hotter and hotter in Malta, and with a fourth heatwave well underway, it’s only bound to get worse in the coming days. Of course, that’s not going to stop people from celebrating special occasions like weddings, but it can make for some hilariously-timed photos. And if there’s one photo that perfectly embodies summer in Malta, it’s this.

“It was 40°C and the couple got married in 4pm,” photographer Rene Rossignaud explained. “We went down to Marsalforn for some photos afterward, and this woman with a towel on her face was fast asleep near the spot where we wanted to take some photos.”

“I had to walk over her to take the photos,” Rene continued, “and she never even noticed us!” If that isn’t us each and every single day of this summer, we don’t know what is.
