This Relatable Maltese Meme Sparked A Huge Discussion On Facebook About iGaming And It’s Both Funny And True

It’s part of Maltese culture to shift the blame. Whether it’s the government, local authorities or, most recently, the influx of foreign industries, Maltese people will always find something else to attribute their woes and frustrations to.

A new meme that’s going viral among some communities does exactly that, showing a percieved increase in local prices, and attributing it to the iGaming sector.

This meme is 100% relatable to Malta right now and we love it.

What’s even funnier is the debate that ensued as a result of this dank meme.

A lot of people understood it was joke and piled on…

Others provided a sustainable, alternative solution to what might actually be an existing problem…

Those who have lived here long enough know that this probably has nothing to do with iGaming and in fact is just a ‘Sliema thing’.

But the best part of any meme reaction is the constant bickering between iGaming and non-iGaming people…

Tower Supermarket have since reacted to the meme, clarifying its onion’s prices.

“We work very hard to provide the best local and foreign produce to our customers with the most competitive price. It’s really disappointing to see our hard work being mocked on a closed page. Just so you know local onions are priced at 3.30 per kilo (as they are not in season), local 1kg packed onions at 2.15 per packet (different local farmer), Italian onions at 1.85 per kilo. Red onions at 2.15 per kilo (imported from Holland) We try to offer as much variety as possible to keep each and every customer satisfied.”
