Spotting a dolphin is always a heartwarming experience, and many of us consider themselves lucky to have managed to catch at least a glimpse of a tail or a fin. One Maltese man was a little bit luckier this weekend though, spotting six dolphins playing just off the coast at Delimara.
Clive Baldacchino sent the beautiful video to Lovin Malta after spotting the wonderful creatures swimming gracefully on Sunday. The cute creatures were a delightful sight for the humans who managed to witness them frolicking around.
At around 7.30am, Clive was on his way to the Salini area from Birżebbuġa. As he was closing in near the fish farms in the Delimara area, he noticed a strange movement in the otherwise smooth sea.
He slowed his boat down to examine the movement. “That’s when I spotted a tail on the surface, and before I even knew it there were six dolphins swimming around, playing joyfully,” he told Lovin Malta. Clive quickly realised just how lucky he had been to spot the playful animals.
“They looked really happy, I was so glad I got the chance to see such amazing creatures in the wild,” he said. “I had been hoping for a long time to see at least one dolphin this summer. Not only was my wish granted, but I saw six at the same time! It was an amazing experience and they looked beautiful.”
We have seen a delightful increase in dolphin visits in the last couple of weeks, to the pleasure of anyone who manages to spot these majestic creatures.
