Watch: Beats And Ballots – Earth Garden Festivalgoers On Whether They Will Vote Today
One of Malta’s most popular summer festivals, Earth Garden is currently taking place in Ta’ Qali, promoting local artists on six different stages. You might just smell some cannabis in the area too.
Taking place from 6th to 9th June, the festival coincided with the day Malta will be voting in the European Parliament and local council elections.
Lovin Malta went to Earth Garden and asked festivalgoers if they will be voting for the European elections.
Responses were varied: some were adamantly against voting, others said they will go and vote, and a few expressed scepticism about the electoral process altogether adding that there isn’t enough education about voting and felt lost all together.
While opinions differed, there was a notable segment of people encouraging people to go out and vote and be part of the democratic process.
