Mobile phone footage has emerged of a fight that erupted at a bus stop near Portes des Bombes in Floriana after a man claimed a stranger had offered him money in return for anal sex.

The man, who appears to be a sub-Saharan African, can be heard shouting at a Maltese man: “You told me that he will give me €50 and he fucks me in the ass.”

The Maltese man vehemently denied this, claiming instead that he was sitting down minding his own business when the African man approached him and called him a ‘pufta’.

A second Maltese man ended up getting involved, accusing the first one of racism and demanding he show some respect to the African.

“You’re going to go and you’re going to shut up now, goddamnit,” he tells him at one point. “You’re going to sit down and shut the fuck up.”

A bystander who partially captured the incident on camera told Lovin Malta that the fight escalated and the African man ended up punching the man he claimed had offered him money for sex. He called the police but the African man had caught a bus by the time they arrived on the scene.
