Malta’s construction workers have reached new heights with this bizarre and strange video of an excavator in Birkirkara going about its business… on a roof.

Yes, you read that correctly, this heavy-duty construction equipment is demolishing a roof whilst on the roof itself… talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

In no way whatsoever do the construction workers seem phased by what they are doing and just carry on like its another day in the office. This totally abides by health and safety regulations by the way and doesn’t pose a threat to their life whatsoever *cough* *cough*.

That is until the roof collapses with them on top of it.

I don’t think everyone will be so chilled when a 3500 kg excavator comes crashing through their kitchen but, in typical Maltese fashion, we’ll worry about that when it happens.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about this video is how the machinery got there in the first place! It seems like construction companies do a great job of getting machinery on-site but suck at everything else.
