WATCH: Is This Truck In Spinola Bay Doing What We Think It’s Doing?
The horrors of living in a country with so much construction going on are well documented. But the casual polluting of one of Malta’s most visible bays may be a step too far.
A video submitted to Lovin Malta seems to show what looks like a large cloud of debris and waste forming in the water at Spinola bay. The cloud leads back to a ramp where a construction truck is packed up.
When Lovin Malta reached out to the Planning Authority, we were told that the PA could not review videos, and were told to report the illegality to the Environment and Resources Authority.
The PA representative did say that dumping debris into the sea was illegal, but was unable to confirm what penalties were involved.
At the time of publishing, the ERA have not responded to Lovin Malta’s questions.
