WATCH: Long Awaited Maltese ‘Dramedy’ Is Finally Here Bearing Your Much Needed Dose Of Tucci
Drama is our life. Not one single day goes by on this island without a healthy dose of it. Fortunately, local production company Take2 are here to satisfy our needs.
Following popular television series like Evangelisti and Deceduti, TAKE2 return with a whole new story, the drama/comedy Miraklu.
“The uniqueness of the dramedy is that it combines high stakes drama with comically flawed characters. The drama is derived from the gravity of the various situations as they unfold, the high torque comedy that the story is imbued with comes from the characters and their thoroughly fleshed out humanity,” Carlos Debattista from Take2 told Lovin Malta.
Miraklu will premiere on Net TV on the 1st of October. This 11 episode long series will be offered for international distribution once it’s completely aired on our shores.
“This series will deal with current issues, such as racism, family, religion, rampant over development as well as looking at the eclectic nature of just what it means to be Maltese,” Debattista said.
“The series does so in a way as to always compliment the story. It is in many ways a lighthearted satirical view of the essence of the throbbing heart of Maltese people,”
Miraklu will feature a varied cast of veteran actors such as Carlos Farrugia, Doriana Portelli and Ludwig Farrugia. We will also see new faces in this series which include Ileana Cutajar, Matteo Calleja Tonna, Kurt Magri and Naledi Sehlolo.
Oh and Davide Tucci will be paying the dreamy village priest.
