Watch: St Patrick’s Partygoers Paint The Streets Of St Julian’s Green

Thousands of people took to the streets of St Julian’s to celebrate St Patrick’s Day today.

The most dedicated drinkers started partying early in the afternoon, while others joined in as the day progressed. With several streets closed off for traffic, revellers had plenty of space to party the day away.

A traditionally Irish holiday, St Patrick’s has ballooned in popularity in Malta in recent years, although it has become something of a frustrating experience for some St Julian’s residents.

Festivities were dampened or cancelled altogether for the past three years due to COVID-19 restrictions, but they have now returned with a bang.
