WATCH: Stunning HD Time-Lapse Unleashes Sheer Natural Beauty Of Maltese Thunderstorms

Forget Netflix - this is the most intense thing you're going to see today

As Malta prepares to re-enter storm season, with some hard-hitting thunderstorms already reaching the islands, one Maltese photographer has released an incredible high-definition time-lapse of storms to remind us all just how scarily beautiful massive thunderstorms are.

Fredrick Muscat, who has been chasing storms for over two decades, told Lovin Malta about capturing his mesmerising footage, and how he doesn't mind getting wet to capture the shots.

"I've been chasing storms for 25 years, and this video captures some of the best storms I chased in the last four years," he said. "I've always wanted to make a video using the thousands of photos I've taken during the year."

"When shooting a storm I always hope to capture the lightning strikes - but storms are always nice to watch"

Though he's been chasing storms for 25 years, this is his first time-lapse on the Maltese islands

"This is my first lightning time-lapse on Malta and Gozo. My intention is to show a part of what I see during my trips when I storm chase around Malta," he said.

In capturing the footage, Fredrick often has to deal with some seriously tough weather

"Yes, sometimes I get really wet," he laughs, "but I don't really mind unless my equipment is safe. Even more important though, you don't want to get struck by lightning, so I always stay safe."
