WATCH: This Uninterrupted, Silent 20 Minute Walk Through Valletta Is Weirdly Calming
Loud sound effects, flashy transitions, and lightning-speed edits have become the norm in this day and age. Which is why any YouTube video longer than 10 minutes instantly raises an intrigued eyebrow in this fast-paced world.
Well, how about a 20-minute, uninterrupted, silent walk through the streets of Malta’s capital?
The latest video to be uploaded onto the aptly-named YouTube account Living Walks promises to be just that; a high-definition video, spanning nearly half-an-hour, of a walk around the streets of Valletta. And when you start getting into it, the whole thing quickly turns into a weirdly calming experience.
“When you are walking in Valletta, Malta, you are walking through history,” the video’s description perfectly puts it.
While the person filming doesn’t say anything, the video still has sound, with dispersed gossip and the daily hustle and bustle acting as the perfect backdrop.
This is not the first city to receive the Living Walks treatment, with videos of similar walks being uploaded from The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Mexico and Cuba among many more. Of course, since Valletta is so tiny compared to the other cities featured on the account, this be one of the most rigorous out there.
In fact, the 20-minute video just about covers every nook and cranny of the capital, from Castille Square and Strait Street to the gorgeous seaside streets overlooking the Grand Harbour.
