Maħta In Malta: What Your Paceville Bar Of Choice Says About You

Article Featured Image

Despite Malta’s tiny size, it’s sure birthed a lot of sub-cultures. With Paceville practically being the Mecca of Maltese youth, it’s well-known that the different bars over at the nightlife hub eventually rack up their own niche audience.

We’ve written up a list of seven of Paceville’s top hang-out spots and made some callous generalisations about what Maltese stereotypes they attract. Which one do you fit into?

1. Big G’s

Have little to no concern about your safety? You’re probably at Big G’s.

Drinking €5 cocktails made out of god-knows-what (Vodka Woo-Woo, we’re looking at you) in plastic pint glasses whilst obstructing a side-street is the Maltese equivalent of a rollercoaster.

2. Hot Ice

There’s literally two reasons you’re gonna want to go to Hot Ice.

You’re either going through a horrible break-up, or have a death wish. Either way, a couple of gas chambers from this shot bar are bound to get the job done.

3. Native

If you’re at Native then you feel like you’re above the whole PV experience and want to catch up with an old friend you don’t really like.

On the bright side, you can fool your followers into thinking you’re having a blast with a cheeky picture of their appetisers and luscious cocktails.

4. Bellinii Bar

This is an easy one; you’re 16, out past your bedtime, and looking for a desperate foreigner to get off with. Boom.

5. Beggar’s Inn

You’re not sure whether you feel like a laid back drink with some friends or a full-on club-hopping experience, so you head down to Beggar’s.

This bar keeps your options open whilst simultaneously acting as a stepping stone to the rest of Paceville. If you’re awful at committing to plans, this is where we’d find you.

6. The Anvil Pub

You’re probably so loud you’ve been kicked out of every other bar in the area (*cough cough* theatre crowd).

Anvil’s outdoor benches make it easy to have a conversation with a few pals without making the other customers regret not bringing along a pair of earplugs.

7. Cork’s Irish Pub

You’ve started getting bored of the weekly sesh, so you’re enjoying a night of pool and beer (and maybe some karaoke) at Cork’s.

This bar is perfect for all those old souls who don’t want to give up on Paceville just yet, but want to take a break from the full experience.

Are we right on the money, or did we miss your hang-out spot? Let us know in the comments and tag a patron of one of these bars!
