It’s been unusually blue-skied in Malta, so it’s time to get up, quit bitching about the ‘cold’ (guys, it’s not that cold), and head to the island’s green, green countryside this weekend.

There are a couple of outdoor events happening in the coming days, and here are some of the ones that you should consider hauling your ass to.

1. Xlendi Plogging

Date: Saturday January 19th
Time: 11:45 – 12:45

MEP candidate Cami Appelgren is organising a walk-clean-up in Xlendi. Starting from the car park, you can chat and stroll as you keep your eyes peeled for garbage to pick up along the way.

Plogging was invented in Sweden and combines walking with picking up litter. And our Swedish environmentalist / MEP candidate is bringing this fun outdoors activity to Malta.

2. Walk along the Malta’s north east coast

Date: Sunday January 20th
Time: 09:00 – 11:00

Anyone can join Experience: adventures and more for a nice countryside walk. You’ll be able to explore lovely trails to Mellieħa bay and Imġiebaħ bay for some scenic views and great photo opportunities.

3. Red Towers Walk

Date: Sunday January 20th
Time: 10:00 – 14:00

IELS Malta are organising a walk at the Red Tower and around Mellieħa. So for the chance to meet some internationals, and perhaps brush up on your Spanish and Italian, join in on this walk happening on Sunday.

4. Lunar Moon Watching

Date: Monday January 21st
Time: 04:00 – 07:00

And what is a more perfect way to end your week than to experience an insane celestial event by getting a glimpse of the rare ‘Super Blood Wolf Moon’ lunar eclipse?

Get some rest on Sunday afternoon, because in the very early morning of January 21st, Europe’s skies are about to put on a show as a set of variables get together to create a “super blood wolf moon” lunar eclipse. The moon is going to look a little reddish, way bigger than usual and it will be the first full moon of 2019.

Ditch the other events, this is the one that you’ve 100% got to make time for.
