No matter how big a country is, the love of road trips is as universal as they get. The absolute freedom of a fresh breeze wafting through the window as you experience one breathtaking scene after another is unparalleled, and we’ve all felt the call of the road at least once in our lives. One car brand knows this all too well, and decided to pit a couple of countries against each other… including little old Malta.

Taking to Instagram, the official MINI page asked its 700,000 strong following which dream road trip destination they’d rather go on. The car brand’s Instagram story had three pairs; Canada vs Australia, Japan vs Korea… and Malta vs Greece.

Posted yesterday, the story saw thousands of votes coming in. And while our Mediterranean brothers to the east are over 400 times larger than us, Malta did end up getting a respectable 42% of the votes.

The Instagram story does have a couple of hours remaining, though, so if you’d like to turn the tides, then this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

We all know deep down that Malta really, honestly is the best place for that dream road trip (outside rush hour and away from the town centres, of course), so let’s get that percentage all the way up!
