Malta’s Annual Charity Christmas Swim Is Back
The Thomas Smith Christmas Charity Swim is happening for the 18th time on the 18th December (how cute is that?). The event is organised in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, at the pier next to the Independence Garden, in Sliema.
Who’s it for?
The funds raised by these brave Christmas swimmers will be donated to the Malta Community Chest Fund. Any contribution is welcome, but the organisers urge family, friends and colleagues to help sponsor swimmers to collect €50 before the swim happens. #easy
How do I sign up?
You can pick from two options:
Registration on the day – participants can fill in a registration form at the registration desk – registration kicks off at 09:30am. There will be two desks: one on the promenade by Fresco’s, and a smaller one by the swimmer zone.
Registration in advance – if you want to be really organised about it you can download the registration form in advance, fill it in, and bring it to the desk on the day.
P.S. People who don’t want to swim can also join on the pier to cheer on the Christmas crowd!
How much swimming does it actually involve?
Stop panicking – this isn’t a marathon. This is more like one massive ċama ċama for a really good cause.
If you can’t make it and still want to help out you can still donate by:
- Sending a blank SMS to 50618178 (€4.66) or 50619279 (€11.65)
- Via a bank transfer to the following account: HSBC Bank (Malta) plc, 32, Merchants Street, Valletta. Account No.: 033-080037-002; Swift Code: MMEBMTMT; IBAN No. : MT04MMEB44336000000033080037002.
