Popular YouTube channel, Top 10 Talent, has named Malta’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Emma Cutajar as part of its list of the Top 10 most emotional singing auditions of 2020. The list takes auditions from editions of Got Talent, X Factor, and Idol from around the world – including India’s Idol and Italy’s X Factor.
In her audition, Emma performed an emotional song called ‘I Miss You’ which is dedicated to the sister that she never got the chance to meet, as she died before Emma was born.
The heartfelt performance, whose music and lyrics were written by Emma herself and played on the piano, broke the hearts of the judges.
“I think you are the bravest to come here and sing that, and I want to see you in the final,” Got Talent judge, Maxine Aquilina, said after Emma’s audition, promptly followed by giving the 14-year-old singer the golden buzzer.
A teary-eyed Aquilina went on to describe Emma’s performance as “amazing” and that the song “broke all of us” whilst highlighting that this golden buzzer was “in honour of your family.”
Emma went on to perform another original, emotional song during the second semi-final of Malta’s Got Talent. Though, she did not qualify to reach the finals, her recognition by Top 10 Talent is an undeniable feat – more so considering that, standing at nearly six million subscribers, the channel is hugely popular.
