Heartbroken students have turned to social media to pay tribute to Mr. Chun, the gymnastics teacher who touched the lives of thousands across the island.

Albert Ching Yi Chun died aged 58 and had been coaching in Malta since 1992, after spending time coaching in the United States and Hong Kong. While in Malta he became the president of the Malta Gymnastics Federation and also founded, and served as the coach for the Maltese National Gymnastics team.

Students from across the island are shocked and saddened to hear of his passing, with many remembering many of the life lessons he taught them on and off the gym mat.

Albert Ching Yi Chun was married to Selina Chun and they had a daughter, Chloe.

To students, friends and family who would like to attend his memorial, it will be held on Sunday, May 20th.
