Maltese trap shooter Brian Galea has won a bronze medal for Malta after an impressive performance at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Despite getting off to an impressive starts (shooting 48/50 clays), Galea nearly didn’t make it into the final after tying for sixth place with Indian competitor Kyan Chenai.

The two then had a shoot-off to see who would be allowed to compete in the final and Galea beat his opponent 4-3. Bringing the keen eye and quick shot that impressed viewers in the opening round, Galea hit 36 of his shots, securing a commendable third place.

While at the competition Brian was assisted with his coach Frans Bugeja.

This is the second medal for Malta at these games after the lawn bowling women’s fours also secured a bronze medal.
