A Blast To The Past Of Swing Music: The Glenn Miller Orchestra To Make Their Debut In Malta

World-renowned big band group, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, will be performing in Malta during the month of November at the Mediterranean Conference Centre – much to the delight of long-time fans.

The greatly-anticipated ‘Best of’ tour promises to take the audience back to the golden era of swing, the band continues to preserve authenticity and deliver incredible energy on stage – as well as honour the memory of the person after which the orchestra was named, Glenn Miller.

In 1944, the band was to be sent on a six-week tour of Europe, stationed in Paris. Miller decided to go ahead, in order to make the proper arrangements for the group’s arrival. And so on December 15th, Glenn Miller boarded a transport plane to Paris, never to be seen again.

The orchestra will be playing Moonlight SerenadeAin’t We Got FunSomewhere Over the RainbowA String of PearlsLittle Brown Jug as well as many other of their hits, as reported by Times of Malta.

The vocalists and musicians aim to maintain Miller’s distinct style in order to keep his memory alive, while also creating an atmosphere that transports viewers back to the orchestra’s performances in the early 1930s and ’40s.

The orchestra’s musical range shines through especially when performing sentimental ballads, such as the timeless Moonlight Serenade, performed exactly as Glenn Miller composed it.

The ensemble’s sophisticated musicians display a love for emotional jazz which is undeniably clear to every  person in the audience.  The Glenn Miller Orchestra has captured the hearts of audiences across the globe – including the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Japan, and the Philippines.

On 18th November, 2023, The Glenn Miller Orchestra will make its debut in Malta, and it’s sure to be a once in a lifetime experience.
