Maltese singer and Eurovision hopeful Aidan has brought on three of Malta’s top lawyers as he begins a legal bid to reverse the decision to disqualify him from the 2023 Malta Eurovision Song Contest.

Aidan has teamed up with lawyers Franco Debono, Marion Camilleri and Charles Mercieca, sending a legal letter to PBS demanding they suspend the disqualification and set up a meeting with the concerned parties with the hope that Aidan is allowed back into the competition.

In an exclusive comment to Lovin Malta, Aidan gave his first public reaction to the disqualification, noting that this was set to be his third attempt at representing Malta at the Eurovision.

“What hurt me the most was what my fans and followers who supported me all this time went through, and I can only hope the best for all the singers still in the competition,” Aidan said.

“And I am hoping to be let back in.”

Aidan was disqualified over posting on social media, with PBS saying they had warned him repeatedly not to share any “unauthorised posts”.

However, countless people have pointed out that several other singers also flouted the PBS rule, with others wondering why such a strange rule was in place anyway.

Since his disqualification, a petition was set up urging PBS to backtrack on their decision.
